Despite the connotations of the STI Sport badge, the model does not receive any power upgrades in lower trim levels and produces the same 175 hp (130 kW / 177 PS) from its 1.8-liter turbocharged boxer engine. It does, however, feature a set of STI-tuned dampers, resulting in improved credential processing.<br/><br/>Another highlight of the 2024 MY is the Geyser Blue color, available exclusively for the X-Edition and XT-Edition trims. This is the same color used on the US-spec Subaru Forester Wilderness, first introduced in Japan in late 2022 with the XT-Edition.<br/><br/>Both the X-Edition and XT-Edition trims are equipped with waterproof upholstery, durable cargo floor lining and black interior accents. Known as the Chevrolet S10 in Brazil, it has undergone a significant facelift for the 2025 model year, boasting a redesigned front fascia, overhauled interior, and various enhancements beneath the surface.<br/><br/>Beginning with the exterior, the standout feature is the entirely redesigned front fascia, which brings the aging S10 in line with Chevrolet’s current design language. The smaller LED headlights bear a striking resemblance to those found on the newer US-spec Colorado, though the grille and intakes are distinct to the Brazilian model. Additionally, the new face showcases body-colored trim on the base-spec LTZ, black accents on the Z71, and chrome detailing on the High Country trim.<br/><br/>The profile looks instantly recognizable, even though the front fenders are more sculpted than before. At the back, Chevrolet added a new pair of LEDs and a redesigned tailgate. The pickup was shown in the double-cab configuration, although single-cab and chassis-cab versions will follow soon.<br/><br/>The interior represents a significant upgrade over the outgoing model both in terms of looks and technology. An 8-inch digital instrument cluster and an 11-inch infotainment display closely match the setup found in the US-spec Colorado. The S10 also benefits from wider and softer seats and a Silverado-sourced steering wheel. Finally, new ADAS includes rear cross-traffic alert and blind spot alert.<br/><br/>Under the hood lies a revised version of the four-cylinder 2.8-liter Duramax turbodiesel which is said to be “managed by artificial intelligence”. Chevrolet doesn’t go into specifics but this is likely a fancy way of advertising new ECU software. In any case, the mill produces 204 hp (152 kW / 207 PS) and 510 Nm (376 lb-ft) of torque, figures slightly improved compared to its predecessor.<br/><br/>The updated engine is exclusively mated to a new 8-speed automatic transmission sourced from the current US-spec Colorado, and specifically calibrated for the S10. This was 15 years ago. There's now a new 4Runner – finally – and even though Toyota has rebuilt its iconic off-roader from the ground up, it retains its rugged spirit.<br/><br/>Also based on the new Tacoma, the 2025 4Runner uses the same TNGA-F truck architecture. It ditches the old 4.0-liter V-6 and five-speed automatic in favor of a standard turbocharged 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 278 horsepower and 378 pound-feet of torque. That's 8 more hp than the current 4Runner and a whopping 100 additional pound-feet.<br/><br/>The optional I-Force Max hybrid version of the same engine produces 326 hp and 465 lb-ft. Both of these powertrains ditch the old five-speed in favor of a new eight-speed automatic transmission. Unfortunately, there is no manual to be found.<br/><br/>The 4Runner will be offered with two-wheel drive, part-time four-wheel drive and full-time four-wheel drive, depending on how you specify it. All 2WD models will feature a limited-slip differential, while 4WD models will feature the same LSD and electronically controlled two-speed transfer case with high- and low-range gearing, as well as Toyota's Active Traction Control (A-Trac).<br/><br/>There's also what Toyota calls the new Stabilizer Bar Disconnect Mechanism for better articulation. This one-button access system allows the 4Runner to flex while keeping its tires on the ground. The 4Runner has a 32-degree approach and 24-degree departure angle.<br/><br/>And the new 4Runner promises to be even more capable. Mud, Dirt and Sand modes and a quieter Crawl Control function join the party in 2025, while new Trailhunter hardware (borrowed from the Tacoma) joins the rest of the lineup. Buyers will be able to choose from nine 4Runner trims: SR5, TRD Sport, TRD Sport Premium, TRD Off Road, TRD Off Road Premium, Limited, Platinum, TRD Pro and the aforementioned Trailhunter, the toughest of the bunch.<br/><br/>The 4Runner Trailhunter has 33-inch all-terrain tires that raise the ride height by 2.0 inches in the front and 1.5 inches in the rear. Two-and-a-half-inch Old Man Emu forged shocks with ARB-free reservoirs dot the corners of the suspension. Known as the Chevrolet S10 in Brazil, it has undergone a significant facelift for the 2025 model year, boasting a redesigned front fascia, overhauled interior, and various enhancements beneath the surface.<br/><br/>Beginning with the exterior, the standout feature is the entirely redesigned front fascia, which brings the aging S10 in line with Chevrolet’s current design language. The smaller LED headlights bear a striking resemblance to those found on the newer US-spec Colorado, though the grille and intakes are distinct to the Brazilian model. Additionally, the new face showcases body-colored trim on the base-spec LTZ, black accents on the Z71, and chrome detailing on the High Country trim.<br/><br/>The profile looks instantly recognizable, even though the front fenders are more sculpted than before. At the back, Chevrolet added a new pair of LEDs and a redesigned tailgate. The pickup was shown in the double-cab configuration, although single-cab and chassis-cab versions will follow soon.<br/><br/>The interior represents a significant upgrade over the outgoing model both in terms of looks and technology. An 8-inch digital instrument cluster and an 11-inch infotainment display closely match the setup found in the US-spec Colorado. The S10 also benefits from wider and softer seats and a Silverado-sourced steering wheel. Finally, new ADAS includes rear cross-traffic alert and blind spot alert.<br/><br/>Under the hood lies a revised version of the four-cylinder 2.8-liter Duramax turbodiesel which is said to be “managed by artificial intelligence”. Chevrolet doesn’t go into specifics but this is likely a fancy way of advertising new ECU software. In any case, the mill produces 204 hp (152 kW / 207 PS) and 510 Nm (376 lb-ft) of torque, figures slightly improved compared to its predecessor.<br/><br/>The updated engine is exclusively mated to a new 8-speed automatic transmission sourced from the current US-spec Colorado, and specifically calibrated for the S10. This was 15 years ago. There's now a new 4Runner – finally – and even though Toyota has rebuilt its iconic off-roader from the ground up, it retains its rugged spirit.<br/><br/>Also based on the new Tacoma, the 2025 4Runner uses the same TNGA-F truck architecture. It ditches the old 4.0-liter V-6 and five-speed automatic in favor of a standard turbocharged 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 278 horsepower and 378 pound-feet of torque. That's 8 more hp than the current 4Runner and a whopping 100 additional pound-feet.<br/><br/>The optional I-Force Max hybrid version of the same engine produces 326 hp and 465 lb-ft. Both of these powertrains ditch the old five-speed in favor of a new eight-speed automatic transmission. Unfortunately, there is no manual to be found.<br/><br/>The 4Runner will be offered with two-wheel drive, part-time four-wheel drive and full-time four-wheel drive, depending on how you specify it. All 2WD models will feature a limited-slip differential, while 4WD models will feature the same LSD and electronically controlled two-speed transfer case with high- and low-range gearing, as well as Toyota's Active Traction Control (A-Trac).<br/><br/>There's also what Toyota calls the new Stabilizer Bar Disconnect Mechanism for better articulation. This one-button access system allows the 4Runner to flex while keeping its tires on the ground. The 4Runner has a 32-degree approach and 24-degree departure angle.<br/><br/>And the new 4Runner promises to be even more capable. Mud, Dirt and Sand modes and a quieter Crawl Control function join the party in 2025, while new Trailhunter hardware (borrowed from the Tacoma) joins the rest of the lineup. Buyers will be able to choose from nine 4Runner trims: SR5, TRD Sport, TRD Sport Premium, TRD Off Road, TRD Off Road Premium, Limited, Platinum, TRD Pro and the aforementioned Trailhunter, the toughest of the bunch.<br/><br/>The 4Runner Trailhunter has 33-inch all-terrain tires that raise the ride height by 2.0 inches in the front and 1.5 inches in the rear.
