MEET the USS Compensator - the ultimate off-road monster limousine. Unofficially the tallest Lincoln Town car in the United States, this beast belongs to builder and operator Jordon Foster of Keno, Oregon.The USS Compensator took three months of 12-hour days to build. Using minimal hand tools and doing 99% of the monster conversion himself, the vehicle cost Jordan around $10,000, which includes the purchase of the limo. The car is powered by a 4.6 litre engine, has air ride suspension and is sporting military grade spec tires. “The limo sits on 53-inch-tall by 16-wide tires on 20 by 14 fuel wheels, resulting in a 3.5 to 4ft lift of the vehicle,” Jordon explained. As well as using the car off road, the Compensator is street legal in the state of Oregon and Jordon uses the vehicle in his everyday life. “The car is not useful, it’s hard to park, hard to drive around town, I have to watch my corners, watch my blind spots at all times.” But none of this keeps Jordon from truly enjoying his creation. Besides that, Jordan gets plenty of attention for impressive creation, if only for the six-foot-long Texas Longhorns mounted to the front. And although Jordon has had plenty of interest from potential buyers, he doubts the limo will ever be sold off. “As much as I would like to sell this and build something cooler, I don’t think I could sell the USS Compensator, it’s almost too sentimental now,” Jordon said. About the name of his pride and joy, Jordan says it’s pretty self-explanatory. “A buddy came by one day and said 'man I don't know what you're compensating for with that lift'.”

Predictably, these high output figures match those of the Cupra Born VZ perfectly.<br/><br/>It takes the rear-wheel-drive hot hatch six seconds to accelerate from a standstill to 62 mph for the regular GTX, or 5.6 seconds if you upgrade to the GTX Performance. Top speed is electronically limited to 181 mph and 124 mph respectively.<br/><br/>Both GTXs share a lithium-ion battery pack with a usable energy capacity of 79 kilowatt-hours. It supports DC charging at 175 kilowatts, in which case the battery will be charged from 10 percent to 80 percent in about 26 minutes. With a fully charged battery, ID.3 GTX models are estimated to cover 373 miles on a combined WLTP cycle. The battery is floor-mounted in the middle of the vehicle for better weight distribution.<br/><br/>As with the ID.4 GTX and ID.5 GTX, VW has made the ID.3 GTX look more exciting, with a redesigned front bumper with a larger air intake and a diamond-shaped pattern surrounded by boomerang LEDs that act as daytime running lights. At the rear of the performance model, there is a diffuser with a gloss black finish to match the dark mirror caps, side sills and window frame. Additionally, there are new 20-inch wheels with 215-section tires on the GTX and wider 235-section rubber on the GTX Performance.<br/><br/>There are plenty of red accents in the interior. There are sporty, electrically adjustable front seats with integrated headrests, GTX badging and fabrics made from recycled materials. All ID.3s will feature a new 12.9-inch infotainment system and a separate drive mode selector lever on the steering column. Better late than never, just like on the recently launched Golf Mk8.5, the touch sliders for volume and AC are finally lighting up .<br/><br/>Looking ahead, VW has already suggested that the ninth-generation, electric-only Golf will replace the ID.3 as there is no room for both in the range. Maximum range isn't mentioned, but we think it's less efficient than the rear-wheel-drive model with the larger battery, which can cover 426 miles on the WLTP cycle.<br/><br/>VW doesn't offer any details about performance either. Considering the regular rear-wheel-drive ID.7 hatchback, we estimate 0-to-62 mph is achieved in the low six-second or high-five-second range, and just 282 hp takes six and a half seconds.<br/><br/>Like the ID.3 GTX introduced today, the ID.7 GTX Tourer adopts a slightly sportier look with redesigned bumpers, gloss black accents and special wheels. The electric sports wagon comes with 20-inch alloy wheels as standard, but you can also opt for the larger 21-inch set. The interior is adorned with red accents as well as GTX logos on the seats and steering wheel.<br/><br/>You won't sacrifice any practicality by getting the GTX, as it has the same 21.3 cubic feet of cargo capacity as the standard ID.7 Tourer. The same goes for folding down the rear seats, increasing maximum trunk volume to 60.5 cubic feet.
