The shocking sequence of occurrences was enough to make him retire from competitions.<br/><br/>Sinton spent the following two years without racing, but in 1997 he decided to return with a new Honda 600 cm3. However the season was to be short-lived, as he crashed at Dundalk in June, breaking his collarbone.<br/><br/>The following year he was on his bike again to obtain in tewo years a remarkable sequence of good finishes which resulted in Eddie being offered a machine of the Moira Club for the 2000 season.<br/><br/>With a competitive bike Eddie obtained a third place at his home circuit of Tandragee and another third place at Skerries.
