The final stages of development for the new BMW X3 are taking place at the BMW Group's test center in Miramas, located in the southern part of France. Here, engineers are meticulously adjusting the chassis control systems and the driver assistance technologies of the vehicle. This fourth generation model of the Sports Activity Vehicle, which occupies a prominent position in the premium mid-range category, will soon be launched. It will feature both advanced combustion engines and a sophisticated plug-in hybrid system.<br/><br/>Throughout its development, the BMW X3 has been rigorously tested under a variety of challenging conditions, including snow, ice, and extreme heat, as well as on rough off-road terrains, ensuring its readiness for mass production. The vehicle's practicality and performance have been scrutinized in heavy urban traffic, on serpentine rural roads, bustling highways, and even on specialized race tracks.<br/><br/>The test site in Miramas offers a diverse array of road simulations, including an asphalt oval, a highway ring, and various slalom, serpentine, and circular tracks, in addition to off-road paths and handling circuits with varying surface types. These facilities are crucial for refining the vehicle's acceleration, suspension, dumping, steering precision, and braking capabilities.<br/><br/>In terms of driving dynamics and efficiency, the new BMW X3 is improved by its intelligent use of lightweight materials and aerodynamic enhancements, boasting a drag coefficient of 0.27—a benchmark in its class. The vehicle also features a broader wheelbase and reduced lift at the rear axle compared to its predecessor. Enhancements in body rigidity and chassis integration contribute to the car's improved stability. Changes to the axles' kinematics and elastokinematics, a 19 percent increase in front wheel caster, and a more responsive steering ratio, together with revamped anti-roll bars, significantly enhance the vehicle's directional stability and cornering prowess while maintaining comfort.<br/><br/>Optionally available is an Adaptive Chassis with electronically controlled shock absorbers, allowing for adjustment between two settings via the My Modes function during the dynamic testing phase in Miramas. Standard in this new model is the latest BMW Lateral Dynamics Management, which precisely controls steering torques, wheel slip, and yaw torque distribution tailored to various driving conditions.<br/><br/>BMW's expert engineering ensures that each component of the drive and chassis technology is in perfect harmony, delivering a blend of precision, control, and adaptability that defines the BMW SAV driving experience.<br/><br/>Additionally, the new BMW X3 is equipped with the most recent BMW iDrive system, based on the BMW Operating System 9. The M-2 Motorway or the Lahore–Islamabad Motorway is a north–south motorway in Pakistan, connecting Rawalpindi/Islamabad to Lahore, and is the first motorway to have been built in South Asia. The M-2 is 375 km long and located entirely in Punjab. It continues on to eventually become the M-1 motorway, which terminates in Peshawar. The M-2 crosses the junction of M-4 (to Faisalabad) at Pindi Bhattian and M-3 (to Multan) at Dera Saithan Wala. The motorway is also a part of the Asian Highway AH1. The motorway was constructed during Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif's rule and cost over Rs. 60 billion (equivalent to US$2.8 billion in 2023) and was opened in November 1997. One of the most expensive motorways in Asia, it also has one of the highest pillared-bridges in Asia at the Khewra Salt Range section.<br/><br/>There are ten service and rest areas on both sides of the motorway, with fueling, car wash, and car-repair facilities, and fast-food restaurants such as KFC, McDonald's, and Gloria Jean's Coffees, among others.<br/><br/>In 2016, the entire motorway was resurfaced—work that stretched over several months. New toll plazas were installed on every interchange. They are payable with a new M-tag system that was introduced in December 2021.<br/>The M-2 was conceived by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in his first term (1990–1993). The contract was awarded to Daewoo Group of South Korea on 30 December 1991 at a cost of Rs. 23,686 billion on a design-cum-construct basis. The original contract was for a four-lane facility.<br/><br/>Daewoo provided a loan of $379 million as supplier's credit, covering 40% of the construction cost. The loaned amount would eventually grow to $702 million. The other 60% of the cost would be paid by the government.<br/><br/>The motorway was inaugurated on November 26, 1997, during Sharif's second term.In late 2006, upgrades were made to the portion of the M-2 passing through the Salt Range due to increasing complaints of drivers. The upgrades included better marking of the road lines and increased size of road signs for easy visibility.In 2016, the M-2 motorway was resurfaced for a smooth and safer drive.

Output is sent to the front wheels via an eight-speed automatic transmission; Volkswagen's 4Motion all-wheel drive system is optional. A have-a-go-hero saved an elderly couple by dragging them out of their burning car seconds before it exploded in a fireball. <br/><br/>Clive Jarvis, 38, was driving to work on Thursday (18/4) morning when he spotted the Renault Kangoo with smoke pouring from the bonnet.<br/><br/>The recovery driver pulled over to see if he could help but leapt into action when he saw it was on fire.<br/><br/>Clive managed to drag the elderly male driver and his frail wife out of the motor just moments before it was engulfed in flames.<br/><br/>Dramatic pictures show the burning car in Malvern Road, Powick near Worcester.<br/><br/>Clive has now been hailed a hero for his fearless actions.<br/><br/>He said: “I was just leaving home and I saw this car. I saw the smoke and I thought it was steam from the radiator. <br/><br/>“I had a look underneath the bonnet and saw the fire. It was right by the battery, so it was the electrical fire.<br/><br/>“I just said to the couple 'if I were you I would get out as fast as you can'.<br/><br/>“They were out the vehicle, then they went back in to get some stuff. Then I brought <br/>them up there. <br/><br/>“The old boy went back into the car to get the belongings, I ran after him and grabbed him around his waist and pulled him out. <br/><br/>“There was something in the vehicle he wanted, we all do it.<br/><br/>“It was the beginning of the inferno. We walked to my car and then it started. <br/><br/>“The tyres went. It was only about a minute or two. <br/><br/>“He wouldn’t have moved quick enough to get out. He would’ve been struggled to get out. <br/><br/>“They were a bit shaken up. The old boy said it never happened to him in all his years of driving. <br/><br/>“They were on the way to hospital when the engine started smoking.”<br/><br/>Firefighters dashed to the scene and quickly extinguished the blaze which completely destroyed the car.<br/><br/>A Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service crew from Worcester Fire Station was called to Malvern Road in Powick at 10.13am.<br/><br/>He said: \
