The world’s wealthiest technology moguls have ridden the AI-fueled frenzy to never-before-seen heights. Forbes found 342 billionaires with fortunes in tech, up from 313 last year. As a group, they are worth a combined $2.6 trillion, more than any other industry and an astounding $750 billion more than last year, a bigger gain than any other industry.

Of course the biggest reason behind the tech rally is the artificial intelligence craze, as investors rush into companies building AI products or selling products to AI companies.

U.S. tech giants are getting in on the action, too, investing heavily in AI’s large language models and the processing power they require, exciting investors and making their founders even richer.

Read the full story on Forbes: https://www.forbes.com/sites/phoebeliu/2024/04/02/tech-billionaires-have-added-an-as[…]billion-to-their-fortunes-over-the-past-year/?sh=3d511b726d2b

Subscribe to FORBES: https://www.youtube.com/user/Forbes?sub_confirmation=1

Fuel your success with Forbes. It’s been a banner year for the mega-wealthy. Forbes found an unprecedented 2,781 billionaires around the globe for this year’s World’s Billionaires list—141 more than in 2023 and 26 more than the previous record, set in 2021. The super-rich are also richer than ever, with their combined wealth hitting $14.2 trillion—$2 trillion more than just a year ago and $1.1 trillion above the previous record, also set in 2021.

As with the economy in general, the money is concentrated at the very top. There are now a record 14 people who are members of the $100 Billion Club, the elite group of people whose fortunes stretch into 12 digits. That’s up from just one four years ago. These lucky few are worth $2 trillion in all, meaning just 0.5% of the world’s 2,781 billionaires hold 14% of all billionaire wealth.

The richest of all is Bernard Arnault, who holds the No. 1 spot for the second year in a row. The French luxury goods kingpin is worth an estimated $233 billion, $22 billion more than in 2023 thanks to another record year for his conglomerate LVMH, the company behind brands such as Louis Vuitton, Tiffany & Co. and Sephora. He’s $38 billion richer than the world’s No. 2, Elon Musk, who is worth an estimated $195 billion. Just behind him, at No. 3, is Amazon’s Jeff Bezos, who is worth an estimated $194 billion. Forbes used stock prices and exchange rates from March 8, 2024 for this year’s ranking.

0:00 Introduction
0:30 How Many Billionaires Made The Cut?
1:10 Who Is The Richest Billionaire In The World?
2:16 How Did Elon Musk Fare?
3:21 AI And Other Billionaire Trends
6:02 What Industries Minted Billionaires?
7:02 Donald Trump's Net Worth
8:55 Who Are Newcomers To The List
11:30 Is The Economy Really Doing Well?

Read the full story on Forbes: https://www.forbes.com/billionaires

Subscribe to FORBES: https://www.youtube.com/user/Forbes?sub_confirmation=1

Fuel your success with Forbes. Money makes the world go ‘round, and in 2024, there's more money around the world than ever before. There are now a record 2,781 people on Forbes’ World’s Billionaires list, worth a record $14.2 trillion in all. They hail from 78 countries, up from 77 in 2023.

The U.S. remains the country with the most billionaire citizens, with 813 who are collectively worth $5.7 trillion, both records. America’s billionaire class is $1.2 trillion richer than last year, thanks in part to the 97 people who joined or re-joined the ranks this year, with notable newcomers including Taylor Swift, NBA Legend Magic Johnson and OpenAI CEO Sam Altman. Fourteen of the top 20 richest people in the world are U.S. citizens, including eight of the top ten. The richest person in the world, however, is once again France’s Bernard Arnault, CEO of luxury goods giant LVMH, who is worth an estimated $233 billion.

China has the second most billionaires, with 406 worth $1.3 trillion; however, that’s down from 576 people last year who were worth a total of $2 trillion. (67 Hong Kongers add another $330 billion.) A major property slump is mostly to blame, along with a stock market rout that wiped out billions for China’s ultra-rich over the past three years.

Read the full story on Forbes: https://www.forbes.com/sites/devinseanmartin/2024/04/02/the-countries-with-the-most-billionaires-2024/

Subscribe to FORBES: https://www.youtube.com/user/Forbes?sub_confirmation=1

Fuel your success with Forbes. A year and a half after ChatGPT burst onto the scene, the AI gold rush is in full swing. Artificial intelligence has become dinner table talk and turned OpenAI CEO Sam Altman into nearly a household name.

Both new and old tech companies have seen their share prices skyrocket, making the world’s tech tycoons even richer and pushing more than a dozen new AI billionaires onto Forbes’ World’s Billionaires list.

A significant amount of the private company funding has come from the legacy tech giants like Microsoft, Amazon and Alphabet, who are hoping to win what has become an AI arms race. For now, there’s no telling if or when the AI bubble may burst and funding may dry up, but it’s starting to show some cracks.

Read the full story on Forbes: https://www.forbes.com/sites/phoebeliu/2024/04/02/the-billionaires-getting-rich-from-ai-2024/

Subscribe to FORBES: https://www.youtube.com/user/Forbes?sub_confirmation=1

Fuel your success with Forbes.
