But Pizza Hut employee and California Fast Food Workers Union member Julieta Garcia says “Many will say ‘Wow’, it's $20, yes. But today in California, we all know that $20 an hour is still not enough to pay rent. I pay more than $2,200 a month to rent my one-bedroom apartment, and I still have to pay for my basic groceries. So $20 is still very low for our survival.”
