_emergency-work-starts-on-breach-to-river-culvert-on-tenbys-south-beach.webp "Emergency exploratory works are being carried out by Natural Resources Wales (NRW) on a breach to a main river culvert at Tenby’s South Beach.<br/>The investigation and subsequent repair work will prevent flowing water from the Afon Ritec surfacing on South Beach. <br/>Without intervention, the breach has the capacity to cause ecological damage and a pose a risk to the public.<br/>Contractors started the first exploratory stage of the work on Thursday, March 14, to establish the extent of the issue.<br/>NRW became aware of the issue on Monday, February 26 when a member of the public reported water flowing across the beach.<br/>Jared Gethin, Project Executive, for NRW, said: “People can expect to see heavy machinery on South Beach in Tenby over the next few days as our team of contractors carry out exploratory works to identify the root cause of the surfacing flows, flagged by the public.<br/>“The NRW-managed culvert conveying the Afon Ritec is thought to have ruptured at a point before its usual sea outfall. During high river levels, surfacing water on South Beach is evident and currently scouring a channel along the beach.<br/>“Without emergency intervention the rupture presents risks to the ecology of the area, which is a designated Site of Special Scientific Interest, to the health and safety of beach-goers and potentially lead to an increased risk of flooding.<br/>“Once we uncover the extent of the culvert breach, we will then be able to work out the best solution and proceed with repair work immediately.”<br/>There will be some diversions and closures in place in South Beach car park and on the beach itself. <br/>NRW urges people to adhere to those for everyone’s safety.")

With multigenerational living causing arguments due to the mess, it’s time for the family to sort through the clutter that has taken over the house. <br/><br/>With the house all packed up, the family’s possessions are laid out in a giant warehouse like an art installation of their entire lives, including 361 glasses, 76 jars of spices and over 5,000 bangles. <br/><br/>With everything displayed in front of them, the family are shocked to see how much they really own, and wonder how it all fitted into their house in the first place. <br/><br/>There are emotional moments as the family go through their most treasured items. We learn that Nila arrived in the UK in the 1970s as a refugee, with her family's only possessions wrapped in a sheet, so she struggles to let go of items they worked so hard to acquire in the first place. And both Nat and Nila put almost every penny they have earned into expanding their two-bedroom house, welcoming in elderly parents in poor health so they could look after them and continuing to provide a space for son Jai, who can’t afford a place of his own. <br/><br/>At the house, carpenter Rob breathes new life into the home, with some ingenious carpentry for the converted garage to turn it from a junk room into a living room for the couple's adult children. Iwan gives the home a supersized spring clean, with lots of useful tips along the way, whilst Dilly reorganises the kitchen, giving Nila an understairs cupboard of dreams. <br/><br/>When the family are left with only the must-keep items, they are packed back up to the house before it’s stylishly refilled by Stacey and her team, ready for the big reveal to the family. Have they really managed to transform this family home by decluttering, organising and upcycling alone?")
