This is the terrifying moment passengers fled from a Delta Air Lines plane when the nose caught fire.The Airbus A321neo had just arrived from Cancun, Mexico, at the Seattle Tacoma International Airport when the 189 fliers were ordered to make an emergency evacuation. CCTV shows flames erupting from the aircraft as passengers clamber through the wing door and flee on the emergency inflatable slide on May 6.Shaken traveller Ashwin Menon said: 'I think people responded to that with panic, there was a little bit of jostling in the aisles to get to the exit. But overall it was a pretty smooth evacuation process.'Investigators found that an electrical cord that the plane plugged into after landing generated sparks which caused the fire.A Delta spokesman said: 'During deplaning on the evening of May 6, the crew of Flight 604 from Cancun to Seattle witnessed smoke in the aircraft nose area after plugging into ground electrical power. 'Out of an abundance of caution, slides were deployed and passengers still on board deplaned via the rear of the aircraft.''Passengers were fully evacuated, and those deplaned to the ramp returned to the terminal via the ramp stairs.'All passengers exited to customs in the International Arrivals Facility for regular processing. The aircraft has been removed from service for inspection and maintenance.'The Airbus A320 is one of the world's most popular planes for short and medium-haul flights.Delta has 58 Airbus A321neos in service.

_photo-reel-mid-amp-west-wales-in-largest-ever-uk-fire-and-rescue-service-convoy.webp "Nine personnel from Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service recently volunteered their time to deliver three fire engines and equipment as part of the largest ever UK Fire and Rescue Service convoy.<br/>On Tuesday, April 23, a convoy of life saving fire and rescue service equipment and vehicles, coordinated by Fire Aid, began its journey to Ukraine to deliver this vital equipment to Ukrainian Firefighters.<br/>The scale of the convoy was unprecedented, which comprised of 33 fire and rescue vehicles, two mechanics vehicles and more than 2,800 pieces of equipment that was donated by UK Fire and Rescue Services (FRSs) and supported by the Home Office. Working with Fire Aid, Welsh and English FRSs have donated all the appliances, kit and equipment, which includes ladders, breathing apparatus sets, boats, fire and water personal protective equipment and safe working at height kit. 100 volunteers, drawn from FRSs and Fire Aid, participated in the convoy.<br/>Nine personnel from Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service (MAWWFRS) volunteered their time to deliver three fire engines on behalf of the Service. The convoy was organised through a partnership of 15 of the UK’s FRSs, which includes all three of the Welsh FRSs, as well as the National Fire Chiefs Council, National Resilience, Home Office, Fire Aid, and the Fire Industry Association. <br/>MAWWFRS Deputy Chief Fire Officer Iwan Cray said:<br/>“The events unfolding in Ukraine have provoked a strong sense of unity within FRS families across the world and MAWWFRS is pleased to be able to provide three fire engines that have reached the end of their serviceable lives with us. <br/>These vehicles, along with the other vehicles in the convoy, will undoubtedly support stations across Ukraine who have lost their equipment and enable them to continue to support their communities.”<br/>War in Ukraine<br/>On February 24th, 2022, the Russian Federation launched an illegal invasion of Ukraine, dramatically escalating more than eight years of conflict to a full-scale war.<br/>Ukrainian fire and rescue services have been decimated by the impact of the war and the demands placed upon them have skyrocketed. To date, 396 firehouses have been destroyed, with 92 more now in occupied territory. 1,676 fire vehicles have been destroyed, 91 firefighters have been killed, with a further 349 injured, and five are held in captivity. Meanwhile, the work of Ukrainian firefighters has grown significantly since the start of the war, with approximately 217,000 buildings destroyed or damaged, 18,270 fires eliminated and 4,975 people rescued.")

After a night at the pub with friends, the idea of Oklahoma Willy was born. Perry told FutureStudiosCars: “We sit at the pub and come up with stupid ideas, I’ll then lock myself in the garage for five years and build it.” The owner of Perrywinkle Customs, Perry is no stranger to wild automotive creations. “It’s a bit like riding on top of a firework,” Perry explained. Taking around six years to build, Perry first bought a Rolls Royce Viper 535 jet engine, originally made in 1978. He stripped it down, polishing everything in aluminum, taking about two years to complete. Next, he added the after burner which took another six months work. Finally, he bought the VW pickup which had spent most of its life on a farm in Oklahoma, taking a further three years to finish. This rare and iconic vehicle is a prized possession of Perry, who doesn’t like to do something that has been done before.The top speed for the vehicle is 300mph, although the fastest Perry has gone is 157mph, an experience he describes as “exhilarating” but a “bit hairy”. The original engine sits in place making the vehicle street legal, providing you don’t fire up the jet. Perry describes the power as “one of the most incredible things you can ever experience.”")
