The brand-new official Monster Jam video game, bringing to life the most action-packed motorsports event on four wheels. The game is a new entry in Milestone’s lineup and will be available in 2024 for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store.<br/><br/>Developed with Unreal Engine 5, Monster Jam Showdown takes advantage of cutting-edge technology to create lifelike environments as never seen before in a Milestone game, with lots of graphical details and an unprecedented light system, also empowering gameplay possibilities and the physics system.<br/><br/>As well as enjoying all the action of the official competitions, players will be able to drive the iconic trucks in unique environments facing a variety of events which will make the fun as big and as loud as the sport itself. In particular, the game will feature a total of 66 official Monster Jam trucks (40 trucks will be included in the base game and 26 will be available through free or premium DLCs), and more than 140 paint outs to unlock and apply.<br/><br/>Aiming to create a faithful reproduction of Monster Jam live events, fans will compete in all three categories of venues, namely American Football fields, baseball stadiums and speedways, experiencing rectangular, diamond and oval layouts. Beyond that, players will be able to drive their favorite Monster Jam trucks in three original environments inspired by the American great outdoors: the barren desert of Death Valley, the stunning forests and crystal rivers of Colorado, and the wintry wild mountains of Alaska. From official competitions such as head-to-head racing and freestyle to specially designed events, a total of 10 different game modes will grant a robust mix of arcade experiences both online and offline, including split-screen.<br/><br/>To deliver the feeling and excitement of mastering 1,500 horsepower mechanical machines, Monster Jam Showdown will feature arcade gameplay endowed with comprehensive and customisable driving aids. This way, everyone will be able to dive into the true spirit of Monster Jam by easily performing massive maneuvers and dynamic stunts. _john-ennis-fatal-crash-mid-antrim-1997-aftermath.webp "Northern Irish rider John Ennis, 24, from Andersons Hill, Newtownards, in County Down, Northern Ireland, suffered a fatal accident during the Classic 250 race of the Mid-Antrim 150 meeting. It happened at approximately 16h45 on Saturday, 02 August 1997.<br/><br/>On the final lap of the race, John Ennis lost control of his motorcycle at the Alexander's Leap, along the Cloughwater Road in Broughshane within the Borough of Ballymena, County Antrim, Northern Ireland. The bike crashed into a wall and John Ennis was killed almost instantly. Another competitor, John Campell was involved in the accident, suffering a broken leg.<br/><br/>The meeting was abandoned, following the tragic accident. John Ennis was the winner of the previous edition of the Classic 250 race at Mid-Antrim, in 1996.<br/><br/>The Mid-Antrim Motor Club staged the first Mid-Antrim 100 (later 150) in 1946 on the Ballygarvey Circuit, outside Ballymena Co. Antrim, Northern Ireland. The race was run over a 6-mile (9.654-kilometer) public roads course. In 1947 the circuit was changed to a 10.4 mile (16.734-kilometer) public roads course with the races being run in a clockwise direction until 1954, and from 1955 in the reverse direction. This circuit was used until 1963. Later the Mid-Antrim 150 Road Race necessitated the move to a different track, the 5.7 mile (9.17-kilometer) Rathkenny Circuit. The first race on the present 3.6-mile (5.793-kilometer) circuit in Clough Village, was held in 1989.<br/><br/>R.I.P")
