Rob Burrow CBE is planning to welcome home his mate, Kevin Sinfield CBE at this year’s Rob Burrow Leeds Marathon on Sunday.<br/><br/>Over 14,000 thousand runners are set to run through the city of Leeds for the Rob Burrow Leeds Marathon, in partnership with Clarion.<br/><br/><br/><br/>Rhinos legends Burrow and Sinfield are set to meet at the finish line situated inside the world-renowned AMT Headingley Stadium, home of the Leeds Rhinos and where they achieved some of their greatest sporting moments together.<br/><br/>Taking place on Sunday May 12, participants are expected to raise millions of pounds for the two main partner charities; the MND Association and the Rob Burrow Centre for Motor Neurone Disease Appeal, alongside a host of other local and national charities.

_loveston-colliery-disaster-annual-pilgrimage.webp "St Leonard’s Loveston is getting ready to host its annual pilgrimage in commemoration of the Loveston Colliery disaster. <br/>All people who wish to commemorate this tragic moment in Pembrokeshire’s local history are welcome to join the Loveston community for a service of remembrance, pilgrim walk and picnic lunch on Friday, May 24. <br/>A service will begin at 1pm in St Leonard’s Church, Loveston (around five miles south east of Narberth), before going on a walk to a site associated with the colliery for a picnic lunch and further prayers. <br/>The service will be led by a number of the local clergy and will include a talk about the tragic events being commemorated. The disaster took place on May 26, 1936 when seven men were killed after accidentally breaking through into an old, flooded working. <br/>People are encouraged to being a picnic and sensible walking shoes with them as pilgrims will be walking over a field. One sunny afternoon, a group of friends and I decided to bring a bunch of colorful balloons to a local park. The sky was clear, and a gentle breeze was perfect for our plans.<br/><br/>As soon as we reached the park, we started blowing up the balloons. We had all sorts of colors: red, blue, yellow, green, and purple. The balloons added a vibrant touch to our small gathering. Once we had enough balloons, someone suggested a game of balloon keep-up. The aim was simple: to keep the balloon up in the air as long as possible without letting it touch the ground.<br/><br/>We formed a circle and started tapping the balloon to each other. Laughter filled the air as we jumped and dived to keep the balloon aloft. The game was not only fun but also turned into a light workout as we ran around, stretching our arms high or lunging to save a balloon from hitting the grass.<br/><br/>After several rounds of keep-up, we took a short break to catch our breath and sip some water. Then, we decided to try another game: balloon tag. In this game, one person was 'it' and had to tag others by hitting them gently with a balloon. This game was even more energetic and hilarious, with everyone scampering and dodging around trying not to get tagged. The person who was 'it' changed frequently, keeping the game dynamic and inclusive.<br/><br/>As the sun began to set, casting a golden glow over the park, we ended our games. We sat down on the grass, sharing snacks and stories, surrounded by the remnants of popped balloons and the few that remained intact, bobbing gently in the evening breeze.<br/><br/>Playing with balloons reminded us of the joy of simple pleasures and the beauty of spending unstructured time with friends in the great outdoors. It was a memorable day that left us all feeling a bit more connected and a lot more joyful.")
