Nearly 300 protesters were arrested overnight at Columbia University and City College of New York as police cleared encampments from both campuses. Violent clashes erupted between pro-Palestinian and pro-Israeli demonstrators at UCLA on Tuesday night, leading the school to cancel classes on Wednesday. Demonstrations have spread to dozens of campuses across the US in support of Palestine and calling for universities to divest from companies doing business with Israel. Hundreds of arrests have been made at protests as some have turned confrontational, though many have remained peaceful.
