_60-live-animals-rescued-from-filthy-home.webp "A group of 60 live animals have been rescued from a filthy house - including days-old puppies.<br/><br/>The house in Des Moines, Norwalk, Iowa was attended to by The Animal Rescue League (ARL) and Norwalk Police.<br/><br/>They discovered 57 dogs and puppies, some of which were dead, and 3 cats living in awful conditions.<br/><br/>Waste and trash covered the floors, with the smell described as being overwhelming.<br/><br/>The dogs were crawling with fleas with many of the dogs and puppies having hair loss, and skin that was red raw from constant scratching.<br/><br/>Other dogs had scarred, cloudy eyes- with one hopping around on three legs.<br/><br/>ARL Animal Welfare Intervention Coordinator, Robyn Dobernecker, said: “We never know when the next call for help is going to come.<br/><br/>\")
