Description: During the peak night for the 2016 Perseids, a brilliant fireball blazed along the Summer Milky Way. This time lapse was shot at Cinder Hills Overlook, Sunset Crater National Monument—12 August 2016 2:35-3:45 AM (0935-1045 UT). The fireball left a glowing train that was visually obvious for about 30 seconds. After that, the camera continued to capture a twisting smoke trail that drifted southward over the course of about 45 minutes while lesser meteors continued to streak by.nnPrints available
