Description: Sky Sports were made to apologize after Daniil Medvedev's X-rated outburst at an umpire during his recent win over Gael Monfils.

The world No.4 men's star is renowned for his foul-mouthed outbursts and lost his temper again while protesting a call on whether a ball was out in Wednesday's victory at the Monte-Carlo Masters.

A disgruntled Medvedev erupted at the side of the court after a point was awarded to French star Monfils during the second set of the match - with the Russian physically upset with the decision.

Having already won the first set of the round of 32 tie, Medvedev led 30-0 during the fourth game of the second set when a lengthy rally ended with a delayed call ruling Monfils had hit his shot out.

Medvedev had already returned a shot that his opponent couldn't get to before the out call which upon review of the ball mark by the umpire was reversed and the point awarded to Monfils.

The 28-year-old then blasted Chair official Mohamed Lahyani in the player's technical area, with the official trying to calm the situation and advising Medvedev not to shout.

The warning momentarily worked before another mistake saw a Monfils shot called in despite it landing outside of the baseline.

The umpire agreed with Medvedev and called the ball out but the Russian was still left furious during the chair changeover after the game.

'It's a freaking joke it's out how did I lose the game when it's out? It's out, it's out!' he screamed before grabbing hold of the canopy covering him and almost turning it over.

Medvedev then swore in a mix of English and his native Russian as he fumed at himself:

Sky Sports commentator Jonathan Overend then apologized for Medvedev, stating on Sky: 'We apologize for the language from Medvedev but we knew it was coming. We knew it was coming.

'The fact that he didn't say anything at the end of the game made us believe that he is fuming about that call.

'Some of that behavior from Medvedev was in danger of crossing the line for sure at the sit-down.'

Medvedev went on to win the match 6-5, 6-4 and will play Karen Khachanov on Thursday.
