Description: The Drowning Place was one of the first Philadelphia books I owned when I returned to Philly in the mid 1970s and it made me feel part of the place; it’s an account of the time Jet spent in an insane asylum many years ago when he was addicted to alcohol and drugs and afraid of who he was. I have a friend Tom who has also done time in mental institutions, and he will tell you with a smile, “I’m certifiable.” Jet is certifiable too, a certifiable poet.
