The brief we were given was 'making space' and the homely scenes in reflection to the words being animated comments on the nature of domestic abuse. My woven piece depicts the evolution of her life as a circus attraction from bearded to tattooed lady. An abstracted and short portrayal of the evolution is shown through projected imagery of a beard and tattoos, but what drew me to this character was the underlying love story that was catalyst to Jean ridding of her beard.
