A CAR CUSTOMISER has built a spectacular Chevrolet low rider boasting over 600 custom parts. Chris Roark, from California, has transformed a 1958 Chevrolet Impala after his previous show-winning car, called The Perfect Score, was destroyed in a crash. Chris told R.Rides: “The Perfect Score was a three time Lowrider Magazine show winner and, on our third title coming home, we were cut off and we got swiped over onto the embankment. The trailer came loose from our toe rig and the car was totalled. That loss, it was very, very tough.” After the accident the other members of the Traditional car club encouraged Chris to create another car in honour of The Perfect Score. From there, The Final Score was born. The impressive lowrider was customised in every way possible with Chris estimating there is close to 600 custom machine parts in the car. This included the door handles, which were shaped for pop doors. The interior was made with full leather ostrich skin, with custom logos engraved on the seats. And everything matches, with the whole engine was engraved to match the outer pinstripe paint. Even the motor was customised, a LS1 that came out of a mid-80s Corvette. Chris told R.Rides: “When I look at the Final Score, I see engineering, craftsmanship and detail.” Despite the success of the original lowrider, Chris’s fans weren’t immediately approving of his new build. Chris explained: “A lot of people didn't take to it when it first came out. They were like, ‘What is this?, this doesn't look good, what are the colours that are mixing?’ “But a couple years went by and now you start to see a lot of people starting to entertain all these different colours.” The lowrider has built up a legion of fans, but will Chris continue building these cars? He said: “It’s tough as you get older, you slow down. I have my son and my nephew that are young guns and they've been keeping the fire under me to keep me going.” Chris’s son, Chris Jr is now leading the next generation of car customizers. Chris Jr told us: “My favourite part of the low rider is when you could get in it and drive, put the top down, just have fun. And they're different, they're unique, not everyone likes low riders, but everyone has their own different tastes. I just like to be behind the wheel and feel the creation of building something that’s unique like this.”

_one-fifth-of-americans-think-about-next-vacation-while-on-vacation.webp "One in five Americans are “always” thinking about planning their next vacation while on vacation, according to new research.<br/><br/>A survey of 2,000 adults who travel found that one in five long to be on vacation again the day they get back (21%) and another 27% said this feeling sets in within a week.<br/>The average person spent 11 days on vacation in 2023.<br/><br/>Looking ahead, the average American wants to spend 15 days on vacation in 2024 and, if they had unlimited PTO, they’d want to spend 18 days.<br/><br/>Although just a quarter of respondents said they travel more than the average person they know, 46% want to be known as a frequent traveler by others in their life.<br/>Conducted by OnePoll for timeshare brand Club Wyndham, the survey found that 89% of those surveyed said vacation reduces their stress levels, even temporarily, with 84% saying a vacation can relax them and decrease stress for up to two whole weeks upon returning.<br/><br/>A majority of respondents said that they consider vacations as a form of self-care (86%).<br/>Similarly, eight in 10 would be interested in a “do-nothing” vacation where they sit by the pool, beach or inside reading a book or relaxing.<br/><br/>“According to the survey, more than 70% of potential travelers count down to their vacation, and a majority long to travel again just one week after returning home,” said Annie Roberts, senior vice president of club and owner services at Club Wyndham. <br/>“With today’s travelers often putting a great deal of time and thought into the trip planning and dreaming stages to ensure a vacation that is well tailored to their interests, it’s not surprising that they want to experience the ‘vacation glow’ again and again.”<br/><br/>To make sure they get what they’re looking for, those surveyed go to great lengths to plan their vacations.<br/><br/>Respondents want to steer clear of discomforts like sharing a bathroom with others (27%) and want to avoid situations where they would have difficulty sleeping (27%).<br/><br/>Nearly a quarter of travelers said sharing a hotel room isn’t ideal and the same percentage said small hotel rooms were a dealbreaker (23%, each).<br/><br/>Most Americans surveyed said that when on vacation with others, they prefer having their own or extra space to spread out (79%), including 82% of parents.<br/><br/>If they had their dream hotel room, respondents would make sure there was Wi-Fi (55%), a private balcony or outdoor area (41%), a large bedroom (37%), a large bathroom (33%) and a full-sized kitchen or kitchenette (32%).<br/><br/>“With nearly a third of respondents (29%) spending most or all their time at their hotel or resort while on vacation, it’s clear that travelers deserve more than just a place to sleep,” said Roberts. “People want to ensure their vacation decisions bring them quality, consistency and peace of mind for their entire experience. Accommodations that actually enhance your vacation, like separate bedrooms, bathrooms and full-sized kitchens, offer travelers a special luxury — the chance to gather comfortably to enjoy shared moments that become lifelong memories.”<br/><br/>Survey methodology:<br/>This random double-opt-in survey of 2,000 Americans who travel was commissioned by Club Wyndham between March 22 and March 28, 2024. We knew that the Cowboys had two areas of importance on both the offensive line and the defensive line. The offensive line issue was answered on day one with the selection of OT Tyler Guyton. He will replace Tyron Smith, the Cowboys lost Smith in free agency to the Jets. Dallas lost Dorance Armstrong in free agency as well to Washington so the Kneeland pick makes sense, he will help with the loss of Armstrong. <br/><br/>Kneeland came out of Western Michigan University in his 2023 season he played in nine games and had a career-high 57 tackles, 4.5 sacks, 7.5 tackles for loss, two forced fumbles, and eight quarterback hurries. Kneeland was named second-team All-MAC. <br/><br/>Also, Dallas needs help with the run and they have lacked in that department for a couple years…Marshawn Kneeland had a 99 percentile run stop % since 2022. <br/><br/>The Cowboys selected G Cooper Beebe out of Kansas State with their 73rd overall pick in the third round on day two of the draft. Dallas continues to prioritize their offensive line by grabbing another guard early. <br/><br/>Beebe was a First-Team All-American in 2023. He played in 51 games for Kansas State and started in 48 of them. His 48 starts ranked 5th highest amongst all wildcats since 1990. He was named 2022 and 2023 Big12 Offensive Lineman of the year, one of five players to earn the honor since the award started in 2006. In his career Beebe only gave up five sacks amongst 1,488 career pass blocking snaps. <br/><br/>The Cowboys selected LB Martist Liufau out of Notre Dame with their 87th overall pick in the third round of the NFL Draft. This was another area where the Cowboys needed some work, with the loss of Leighton Vander Esch to injuries it left an opening for opportunity. <br/><br/>Liufau finished his 2023 season as a second year starter for Notre Dame. He finished 2023 as one of the team’s top tacklers.
