Scotland fan Ethan Walker cycles to Munich after incredible health recovery<br/><br/>A small team of Tartan Army foot-soldiers have decided to cycle to Euro24 in Munich to help Scotland-daft, young footballer, Ethan Walker realise his dream.<br/><br/>Ethan Walker might just be the most committed Scotland fan there is. He's preparing to cycle 1200km to watch his heroes only eight months after a serious accident where he sustained multiple injuries.<br/><br/>(Ethan Walker)<br/><br/>In September 2023 the footballer, who left local side Huntly FC aged 17 to attend a football scholarship in the U.S. was hit by a car in New York state.<br/>Tragically he sustained life threatening injuries including multiple fractures, two brain haemorrhages and the complete dislocation of his right knee. The fractured bones included his skull, shoulder, hand, pelvis and knee. On discharge from intensive care Ethan was still unable to swallow and required months of tube feeding.<br/>The assault to his knee was huge - all his knee ligaments and cartilage were torn, the equivalent of 5 ACL injuries.<br/><br/>Ethan's mum, who was at home in Scotland when the incident happened, was notified and within a day she was by her son's side in hospital.<br/>After six weeks in intensive care Ethan travelled back to Scotland where he met top orthopaedic surgeon Professor Gordon Mackay of the Mackay Clinic.<br/>

![The top 30 simple things that make us smile include a kind gesture from a stranger, waking up on a sunny morning – and seeing an elderly couple holding hands.<br/><br/>A study of 2,000 adults found seeing a loved one get good news, receiving a surprise gift and getting a hug also feature on the list.<br/><br/>While others experience the same joy after getting into bed with freshly washed sheets, seeing an old friend and watching a puppy.<br/><br/>But for 46 per cent of people, simply having someone smile at you makes you feel happy, with 65 per cent of adults saying that it improves their mood.<br/><br/>That positive boost lasts for an average of more than 13 minutes, leaving them more likely to be kinder to others (37 per cent), more motivated (19 per cent) or make a bold decision (nine per cent).<br/><br/>Bupa Dental Care [https://www.bupa.co.uk/dental/dental-care] commissioned the research as part of National Smile Month, to highlight the benefits the friendly gesture can have.<br/><br/>However, an experiment saw just 21 per cent of adults return the friendly gesture from a stranger.<br/><br/>During a two-hour period, actress Zara Naeem smiled at 112 different people as they walked past her - I’d have to start again. <br/><br/>“The first two years I spent a lot of money on advertisements. <br/><br/>“I have hundreds of videos on YouTube, a ten minute video takes a long time to edit.
