Description: This is a video of a traditional yam counting ceremony in Rouku village, Western Province, Papua New Guinea. The languages of the region employ a senary (base-six) numeral system. The video was recorded by Christian Döhler on the 17th of October 2012. The two men doing the counting are Sékri Karémbu and Ronnie Marua.
