President Joe Biden said for the first time that he would halt some shipments of American weapons to Israel if Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu ordered a major invasion of the city of Rafah in Gaza. Biden acknowledged that American bombs had been used to kill civilians in Gaza and said he would stop supplying weapons that have been historically used to deal with Rafah and population centers. Biden said he has conveyed to Netanyahu that the US will not support operations in Palestinian population centers.
