The incident took place on May 13 after the financial capital of the country witnessed heavy rain and dust storms. The 100-foot-tall illegal billboard fell at Chheda Nagar-based petrol pump amid heavy rain and dust storms. The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) conducted overnight rescue operation for people trapped under the hoarding. The huge hoarding was erected by Ego Media. The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) issued a notice to the media agency, asking it to immediately remove the remaining three hoardings.
