Ulica se nalazi na desnoj strani rijeke Miljacke. Pripada Mjesnoj zajednici Dolac. Proteže se od Paromlinske ulice i vodi prema željezničkoj pruzi gdje završava kao ćorsokak. Saobraćajnica je nastala u doba kraljevine Jugoslavije kao nastavak tamošnje kolonije zadrugara željezničara koja se tu počela izgrađivati 1929/1930. godine. Današnje je ime ulica dobila 7. oktobra 1960. godine, po rijeci Spreči, desnoj pritoci rijeke Bosne. Prije toga je nosila naziv Dolac kolonija VI.nnMuzika
