_shocking-moment-staff-member-punches-a-teenage-linesman-to-the-floor-in-a-sudden-mid-game-attack.webp "Shocking footage has emerged capturing the moment that a young linesman was punched in the face by a staff member from a rival football team in North Wales. <br/><br/>The North Wales Coast Football Association match at Amlwch Town saw Clwb Pêl-Droed Penrhyndeudraeth put eight past the hosts in a hugely one-sided affair, however things turned sour soon after the whistle first blew. <br/><br/>With one of the visiting players serving voluntarily as the linesman for the league clash, a figure from the Amlwch staff appeared to strike the player after just 15 minutes of action. <br/><br/>Video footage shows the stunning moment, with two crossing paths on the touchline. <br/><br/>It is not clear whether anything is said between the two, before the Amlwch figure steps up and aims a blow at the linesman's chin, sending him to the ground. <br/><br/>Seemingly stunned for a few seconds, the linesman gets back to his feet as the staff member returns to their bench before Penrhyn boss Riccardo Pellegrino comes over and helps his player up to his feet. <br/><br/>The rest of the Penrhyn squad then come running over to the scene, but Pellegrino prevents any conflict by ushering them away, though the team remains nearby. <br/><br/>One of Pellegrino's assistants appears to talk to the figure that aimed the punch in a bid to calm him down, while other players from the home bench then walk over. <br/><br/>The shocking attack has been reported to North Wales Police, as reported by both the NWCFA and Penrhyn. <br/><br/>The club's statement read: 'A fantastic result and performance from the lads today.<br/><br/>'Unfortunately, the game was marred by an incident which occurred approximately 15 minutes into the game when a Penrhyn player, acting as a voluntary linesman, was assaulted. <br/><br/>'The Club will not be making any further comments but will support the player as the matter has been reported to the police.'<br/><br/>The NWCFA added: 'The North Wales Coast Football Association (NWCFA) is aware of a video circulating on social media about an incident at Amlwch Town FC. This incident is currently being investigated by the police, to which the NWCFA has requested details.<br/><br/>'Whilst this is an ongoing investigation, we would urge people not to share the video or comment as this could impact any investigation.<br/><br/>'The incident will be investigated accordingly on conclusion of the police investigation.'<br/><br/>Penrhyn would go on to win the game 8-0 in a dominant showing in the amateur clash.<br/><br/>Cai Henshaw netted four in the hefty win, while Tom Hughes netted twice and Deio Hughes and Gwion Davis got the other two. <br/><br/>Pellegrino added on Facebook after the incident: 'Your behavior on the pitch after what happened was impeccable, I'm proud to coach this fantastic group of lads.<br/><br/>'I’m proud of all of you COYC.'<br/><br/>The Wales FA CEO confirmed on social media that they are aware of the incident and have condemned the attack.<br/><br/>North Wales Police said: 'We can confirm that we are currently investigating an assault which occurred at Amlwch Town FC’s grounds on Saturday, April 27th")

_burnley-fan-is-spotted-making-sick-gestures-mocking-the-munich-air-disaster-during-draw-with-man-utd.webp "Burnley has vowed to 'identify and prosecute' fans involved in tragedy-related chanting and gestures against Manchester United, after condemning footage of a supporter appearing to mock the Munich air disaster.<br/><br/>Footage was posted on social media following Burnley's 1-1 draw against Man United on Saturday.<br/><br/>Clarets supporters celebrated Zeki Amdouni's equalizer from the penalty spot in the 87th minute at Old Trafford.<br/><br/>One supporter was seen making airplane gestures with his arms towards Man United fans and appeared to say the word 'Munich'.<br/><br/>The gesture appears to be about the 1958 Munich Air Disaster, in which 23 people died on their way home from a European match, including many members of the Man United team nicknamed the 'Busby Babes'. <br/><br/>Burnley issued a statement on Saturday night condemning the 'offensive footage', with the club vowing to work with Man United and police to identify and prosecute fans involved.<br/><br/>'We are aware of offensive footage currently circulating on social media from the away end of today’s fixture at Old Trafford,' a Burnley statement read.<br/><br/>'Tragedy-related gesturing and chanting is completely unacceptable, and Burnley Football Club takes a zero-tolerance approach. <br/><br/>'We will continue to work with Greater Manchester Police, Lancashire Police and Manchester United to help identify and prosecute the individuals responsible.'<br/><br/>Two supporters were arrested on suspicion of tragedy chanting during the FA Cup match between Man United and Liverpool at Old Trafford in March.<br/><br/>Greater Manchester Police confirmed a man was arrested after United fans were heard singing 'always the Victims, it's never your fault', 'The Sun was Right – you're Murderers'.<br/><br/>An FA spokesman said: ‘We strongly condemn any offensive, abusive, and discriminatory chants in football stadiums, and we are determined to stamp this behavior out.<br/><br/>'It is entirely unacceptable and can have a lasting and damaging impact on people and communities within our game. It must stop, and we support any club and their fans who try to eradicate this from the terraces.'<br/><br/>Three United supporters, meanwhile, were arrested earlier this year following chants relating to Hillsborough when the two sides met at Anfield in December.<br/><br/>Last month, Mail Sport revealed that three Arsenal supporters part of the Ashburton Army each received a three-year football banning order for tragic chanting relating to the Hillsborough disaster during the Gunners' FA Cup third-round defeat to Liverpool in January<br/><br/>Football authorities and police have been attempting a major crackdown on tragedy chanting and last June, Premier League teams came together to agree new measures for tackling the rise in tragedy-related chanting at matches.<br/><br/>Football clubs and officials are backing the crackdown by issuing stadium bans and football banning orders to fans caught tragedy chanting, as well as bypassing CCTV footage over to the police.<br/><br/>Mail Sport has contacted Greater Manchester Police for a comment.")
