The ceremony then returned the following two years but was once again put on hold in 2023 due to the Writers Guild of America strike, which started just five days prior. An MTV spokesperson reports that the award show will return in 2025 in a new and reimagined format. Filmmaker Roger Corman dies at 98. Often referred to as 'The King of Bs,' Corman worked on hundreds of films over a seven-decade timespan including The Little Shop of Horrors , Black Scorpion , and Bloody Mama . He helped jumpstart careers and served as a mentor to many of today's most notable directors including James Cameron, Martin Scorsese, and Robert De Niro.
