Description: Built on the banks of the Vegavathy River at the western limits of Kanchipuram, the Kailashanathar temple stands tall with pride and heritage.Constructed during 685-705AD by Narasimhavarma Pallava II aka Rajasimhan,this is the first structural temple built in South India. It was then completed by his son Mahendravarman III and stands dedicated to Lord Shiva.
