This is the only extant version of Gerardo de Leon’s “Noli Me Tangere.” Philippine Cinema expresses its profound gratitude to Archivist Teddy Co for his unflagging efforts to spare the film from suffering the tragic fate of the countless lost films of our rich cinema heritage. Teddyoriginally proposed the restoration project to the Goethe Institut in Manila in 1987. It took a further three years before the film was restored, with the help of the government of the Federal Republic of Germ
